This is an introductory lesson to inequalities which starts by looking at what "equal" means. The inequality symbols are introduced gradually with clear instructions and lots of opportunities for students to practice skills. The main task with number lines is a Tarsia jigsaw (this one took a while to make - I hope you like it!).
